I took my life in my hands
To the shoobie-doo-doobie
Sounds of rubber bands
And I know my baby's
Never coming back

I took the bus, I took the train
I took a killing me softly line
Of have a whiff cocaine
And I know my baby's
Never coming back

These are the facts, here's how it is
The woman I used to call mine is now his
Here is the truth, here's how it stands
All that I can here now
Are those shoobie-doo
Sounds of rubber bands

If I write of regrets, there's more than a few
It'll take me a whole ream of paper
When I get to you
But I know my baby's never coming back

3. The 13th Of Never
(McGowan) What the hell is this? Doo-wop meets Elvis jamming with Frank Zappa. I guess I have to own up writing it – but it is a REAL rubber band I play here – and it was tough to get those last five major seventh notes on it. Mark had a whale of a time hammering at the piano like Jerry Lee Lewis. He loved it! --Davy

This is like some really big hit in the past! What a piano and bass - as are the rest instruments not forgetting the vocals. Really well done. But too short! --Jore
